Building Community Through Books: Our Visit to the Family Centre – Inverness

At Securitay Ltd, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Last week, we had the privilege of visiting the Family Centre – Inverness, where we donated a fantastic selection of books and puzzles for children and families to enjoy. It was truly heartwarming to see the impact that access to books and educational resources can have on young minds.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this initiative. Your generosity has helped to create a welcoming space filled with stories, learning, and creativity. It’s inspiring to see a community come together to support literacy and education, and we are proud to play a small part in that effort.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has donated, and to the Family Centre – Inverness for the amazing work they do every day. We can’t wait to visit again!

40 years of Securitay!

This February, we’re celebrating 40 years of Securitay! Since 1985, we’ve grown from a local business to one of the largest independent security providers in the East and North of Scotland. With 130 employees and an annual turnover exceeding £4 million, we’re proud to offer Manned Guarding, Mobile Patrol, Key Holding, Emergency Response, and CCTV Monitoring Services across the region.

Our success is thanks to the incredible people we’ve worked with—our dedicated team, customers, and suppliers. We’re also honored to be a preferred security provider for public sector bodies through the Scotland Excel framework, and proud of our Approved Contractor Status (ACS) and Safe Contractor and RoSPA accreditations.

As we look back at these photos, we’re reminded of the people who’ve been part of our journey. Do you recognize anyone? Here’s to the years ahead!

Supporting Children’s Wellbeing Through the Power of Books

At Securitay, we believe in making a positive impact in the communities we serve. That’s why we’re thrilled to have played a role in helping distribute the children’s book Worry Doll and Polita Puffin to children’s hospices, hospitals, and Maggie’s Centres across the UK and Ireland.

Abbey and her father, Rikki, created the remarkable book titled Worry Doll and Polita Puffin. This book, written and illustrated by Abbey and Rikki, was developed as a free resource for children dealing with long-term conditions and serious illnesses, including life-limiting conditions.

Securitay offered logistical support to distribute the book and now every children’s hospice and hospital across the UK and Ireland has received multiple copies of Worry Doll and Polita Puffin. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that this latest delivery ensures that every Maggie’s Centre in the UK will now also have copies of the book available.

The process of creating and distributing Worry Doll and Polita Puffin has been a testament to the power of teamwork, making a significant impact, and we are deeply grateful for this partnership.

With gratitude,
Securitay

Following the introduction of mobile workforce management technology from BigChange Securitay has witnessed a 10% increase in revenue. By switching from paper-based planning and reporting, we have improved the efficiency of job allocation, completion reporting and invoicing, which has resulted in a significant increase in income from the existing client base.
“To put it simply BigChange allows us to do more with less. With BigChange we can empower every team member to do what they are employed to do rather than spending time on paper forms and reports, and, because everything is automated, there are less mistakes and fewer omissions” – Richard Jennings, Deputy MD

Weekly update

As lockdown measures are relaxed, Securitay recognise that some door supervisors and security guards will be returning to work at licensed premises and retail outlets having not worked in that environment for a while. There may also be some who are new to the role. Securitay are supporting these members of staff by sharing the SIA guidance produced on good practice that reflects the training staff have received. This will help them to continue to protect the public and keep themselves safe. The messages focus on safer restraint and helping vulnerable people. For further information please go to:
